Want to ride in style? Check out "Style: Hot or Not," where locals display the latest fashions. This month, three teens showcase the modifications that make their vehicles stand out, and our judges critique them.

"Atta boy. I've always been a fan of your truck, although I'm more of an import guy. You have to love a big lifted truck, especially one as sick as yours. A lot of people put huge lifts on trucks and don't put big enough tires on their trucks, but I like how the height of your truck is pretty equal to your tires. If it was a show truck, I would tell you that the side molding things don't really match up, but it's not a show truck. It's a 4-wheel drive, off-road truck, and that's expected." 4.75 stars.

"I have always thought that white is a great color for ‘70s and ‘80s Chevy trucks and Blazers, so points for that. Exhaust modification is also good as long as you were going for better efficiency and not just trying to make it louder -- in which case it is sort of tacky. The same rule applies to the engine. In a world where greenhouse gasses are affecting the global community and fuel is in short supply, bigger is not better just for the sake of being so. This class of Chevy bodies just do not look right when they're lifted, because the bigger tires destroy the proportions that the vehicle was designed to have. That era was all about low-riders, and the vehicles were engineered accordingly. Lifted vehicles are also much more difficult to control and more likely to roll. Unless you're doing some serious farm-work, this is not at all a practical alteration. Not to mention that shorter girls hate trying to get into lifted vehicles. To me your Blazer shows arrogance and disregard of the finer points." 1 star.

"Wow, what a big ... vehicle! I have a weird obsession with white cars/trucks lately so I immediately 'oohed' and 'ahhed' over yours. And while older cars are ever so in right now, the lift gives it a modern feel. Your style definitely suggests that you're a laid-back kind of guy that would enjoy working on a project like your Blazer. My only question is ... how do you get the ladies out on dates?!" 4 stars.

"Going to be honest, I know very little facts about cars. To me, with Dustin's truck all I see is a huge, white, ginormous tire, gas eater. I bet you put out so much just to get to school and back. The big lifted trucks, I'm not a huge fan." 2 Stars.

Keep it up! wrote on April 09, 2007 11:03 AM:"Go drive over a Prius just because of the above statement! :) Let's see, you've got how much money into your truck compared to the 30k that you'd pay for a hybrid?? You drive maybe 7-10 miles a day, so you're putting about 4 bucks into your gas tank a day. Yeah, buy a prius and then replace the battery in 7 years for another $5k. Or just throw your prius away and buy another one at $30k. That makes a lot of sense... Uh oh, I'm getting caught up in the politics again..I love your Blazer!!! When you go to work full time and you have a commute, buy a gas saver, but don't sell your truck! You'd regret it later.. "

It Figures wrote on April 09, 2007 11:07 AM:"Applause to the judges who gave this thing low scores. It's not a practical vehicle. And hopefully he has something more effecient to drive to school. If that is his commuter, he should be ashamed.first, it's not fuel effecient at all, and 2nd, with that lift, and those tires, technically it's not street legal. The problem is, the cops around here have been *way* to lazy to actually do anything about the monster trucks driving around town that have the huge mud tires and monster lifts. Those are completely illegal on the streets due to safety issues, etc."

It Actually Figures wrote on April 09, 2007 11:54 AM:"Ok First, this vehicle isnt illegal its perfectly legal. it is illegal to have truck of vehicle with a lift larger than 9 inches and tires of 35 inch's big guy, so if you might want to get your facts straight there. and its not that the police officers are too lazy because my friend has been pulled over because they thought his lift was to big and his tires were to big, except they werent imagine that so im pretty sure having a lifted truck is perfectly legal."

REALISTIC wrote on April 09, 2007 12:47 PM:"KAMBRA NEEDS TO NOT BE A JUDGE FOR SOMETHING SHE KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT... ANYONE WHO WOULD LOWER A 4 WHEEL DRIVE HAS ISSUES. ALSO, BIG TIRES DO NOT DESTROY THE PROPORTIONS OF THE TRUCK AS LONG AS YOU DON'T PUT TOO BIG OF TIRES - CALLING THIS PERSON ARROGANT BECAUSE HE DOESN'T DRIVE A TINY FUEL-EFFICIENT CAR IS UNCALLED FOR - AMERICA WAS ESTABLISHED ON TRUCKS LIKE THIS THAT ACTUALLY SERVE A PURPOSE SUCH AS TOWING AND HAULING. LIFTING A VEHICLE DOES NOT MAKE IT HARDER TO CONTROL AS LONG AS IT WAS LIFTED CORRECTLY... KAMBRA, GO HUG A TREE."

love it wrote on April 09, 2007 1:26 PM:"I love the classics. Lifted, big 4x4 have always been cool. I love it, so what if it doesnt get 50 mpg, how much is a prius worth in 30 years? This is also a learning experience for a young kid, (learning how to work on a real motor, not a computer) I am sure that when this kid gets out of school and has "adult bills to pay" he will get something more practical, but for now, have fun with it!!"

Greg wrote on April 09, 2007 1:49 PM:"The Oregonian did a report a week ago in the auto section that found that not a single Toyota hybrid vehicle battery had needed to be replaced for wear and tear since 2000. Not ONE. So all this doom and gloom from the basement brigade about hydrids is completely unecessary. Also, the price of the battery has dropped to $2500, but that is obviously immaterial as they are proving to last well be beyond the expected 5 year window. Go ahead buy a hybrid, because the battery is not going to be an issue. Lastly, I don't own a hydbrid and don't work for an auto dealer or manufacturer, just want to make the misguided info is kept to a minimum and the trush is put forward. Thanks"

GIRLKELSOGRAD wrote on April 09, 2007 3:11 PM:"LIKE I ALWAYS SAY "GIRLS LIKE BOYS IN 4 WHEEL DRIVES"IT IS A NICE BLAZER- YOU ARE LUCKY TO HAVE SUCH A NICE CAR AS A KID IN HIGH SCHOOL, WHEN I WAS IN SCHOOL, I HAD A DATSUN PICK UP TRUCK AND I WAS GIVEN ABOUT $10 A WEEK IN GAS MONEY. (OVER 10 YEARS AGO) MOST KIDS NOW DAYS HAVE IT SO EASY- (UNLESS OF COURSE YOU HAVE A JOB, PAY FOR IT ALL YOURSELF, THEN KUDOS TO YOU)"

reppin chevy! wrote on April 09, 2007 3:48 PM:"this guy says he knows nothing about about vehicles and he's judging them? makes no sence at all. its a nice K5."

The Man wrote on April 09, 2007 5:48 PM:"Well, since my last reply wasn't posted probably because it was "Offensive" I'll put it this way. The Truck was ugly, and it gets a 0 score from me."
