The Fox Cities Victim Crisis Response Team: Concerned community members who have the desire to assist people in crisis are needed. Volunteers will attend a 20-hour training session that covers crisis intervention, trauma, community referrals, the criminal justice system and more. The next training session will be 6-10 p.m. May 16 and 18 and 9-4 p.m. May 19 and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. May 20. All training will be held at the Menasha Police Department, 430 First Street, Menasha. Gegan Elementary School: Needs volunteers on Thursday, May 17th, Gegan for it's annual end of school year picnic from 5 to 7pm. We are looking for volunteers ( adults and /or middle & high school age students) to help with food, craft and game areas. No handling of money will be required since it's a free event. The Housing Partnership of the Fox Cities: has a volunteer opportunity for someone, or persons interested in sharing a volunteer position, that would consist of answering phones, directing calls, sending out applications to prospective families, sorting mail, and depending on interest – help with volunteer workgroup(s) coordination. We are looking for persons interested in coming in on a regular basis, whether it be one day a week – the same day a week, two days a week, etc. We are flexible in that area. However we do want someone that can become familiar with processes, the phones, etc so that staff can maintain efficiency and not have to retrain too many times.
