PHOENIX, Oct. 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Hypercom Corporation (NYSE: HYC - News ) today announced the restructuring of the leadership of its worldwide sales organization. Emilian Elefteratos has joined Hypercom as Senior Vice President, International Sales and O.B. Rawls IV has been promoted to Senior Vice President, North American Sales.

Mr. Rawls will be responsible for directing, driving and managing all of the company's sales, service and support in the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean Islands, and Mr. Elefteratos will have the same responsibilities for all other countries and regions of the world. Mr. Elefteratos and Mr. Rawls report directly to William Keiper, CEO of Hypercom. Guilherme Blumenthal, Executive Vice President, Sales & Operations, who was responsible for Global Sales, is departing the Company.

Emilian Elefteratos has more than 20 years of experience in the electronic transaction, networking and telecommunications industries in the U.S. and abroad, primarily with blue-chip leaders Cisco Systems and British Telecommunications. He most recently served as President and CEO of SiVault Systems, a provider of secure authentication, processing, storage, and retrieval solutions for signature-based medical, financial and retail electronic transactions and documents. Prior to that, Mr. Elefteratos served as Director, Sales Finance of Brocade Communications Systems Inc., a network storage company, where he created and implemented affordability and financial modeling processes that significantly increased corporate margins.

Mr. Elefteratos previously held a number of international and US-based posts at Cisco Systems. As Senior Manager, Sales Finance, he developed and managed the automation of control processes and business procedures to recognize revenue, managed internal quote-to-cash processes, and counseled customers on quote-to-cash best practices and cross-functional reengineering projects. As Senior Manager, Customer Advocacy and Senior Manager, Strategic Business Unit, he increased the win rate from 60% to 95%, securing $450 million in new business within two years. At the same time, he established the processes to virtually support non-standard sales opportunities and minimize legal and financial liabilities.

As Manager, Sales -- Worldwide BT Joint Ventures, Mr. Elefteratos generated revenues in excess of 178% of the division's annual target by forging relationships with and developing tailored account plans for key European customers. He also served with British Telecommunications, Plc, in various sales and managerial roles in Paris and London that contributed $1.8 billion to the company's profit line through development of a partner strategy, multi-channel distribution and management of joint ventures. Earlier, as Manager, Sales Operations in Singapore, he created and directed channel and sales strategies that increased revenues 145%-150% above the company's target.

O.B. Rawls has more than 15 years of experience in the electronic payment, banking and healthcare industries. During his five years as President of Hypercom North America, Mr. Rawls has transformed the market for point-of-sale terminals by placing an emphasis on quality control and product diversification that has had a ripple effect throughout the industry. Through his efforts, banks and independent sales organizations today can offer their merchant customers a much broader and more reliable choice or product at all price points -- ultimately improving the business environment for the entire acquiring industry.

Prior to joining Hypercom, Mr. Rawls was Executive Vice President of Operations for Caredata.com, a healthcare information technology company. Mr. Rawls previously served in various executive and general management positions with First Data Corporation, as President of Unified Merchant Services, and as Senior Vice President-Division Executive of Merchant Card Services.
