Needles will be at the ready at 8 a.m. Tuesday as the Immunization Division of the Beaumont Public Health Department, 950 Washington Blvd., begins giving flu shots.
Officials are recommending anyone who evacuated for Hurricane Rita, especially those who stayed in shelters, get the immunizations. As in previous seasons, the elderly, immune-suppressed and young children are particularly at risk.
Kroger Consumer Affairs Manager Russell Richard presented the city of Orange with a $10,000 check Friday to help the city with costs associated with Hurricane Rita.
